Parma Warehouse – Concrete & Masonry
Parma Warehouse: Improving Accessibility for Vehicles and Pedestrians
We recently completed a project to improve the accessibility, durability, and functionality of a warehouse facility in Parma. The work involved installing a new cement drive ramp, masonry repairs, adding a pre-cast step system, and constructing a new concrete sidewalk and ramp. These upgrades enhanced the structural integrity of the facility and improved access for vehicles and pedestrians.
To facilitate smoother vehicle entry, we installed a new cement drive ramp. After preparing the site and setting up barricades for safety, we constructed a stable foundation with a footer and concrete forms. We added wire mesh reinforcement for extra strength, and used high-quality concrete for longevity. We finished the ramp with a textured surface to improve traction and strategically placed control joints to prevent cracking.
Masonry repairs were also a key aspect of the project. Our team addressed deteriorating mortar joints and replaced damaged blocks in a designated 457-square-foot section. This restoration work reinforced the structure and maintained the building’s professional appearance, with color-matched mortar for a seamless look.
To improve pedestrian access, we installed a pre-cast step system leading to a newly added man door. This included a stable landing and painted railings for safety and aesthetic appeal. We also constructed a new concrete sidewalk and ramp on the north side of the building, covering approximately 300 square feet. The area was carefully prepared with saw-cutting, wire mesh reinforcement, and high-quality concrete poured to a four-inch thickness. A broom finish provided slip resistance, while we incorporated control joints to accommodate natural expansion and contraction.
With these enhancements, the warehouse is now more accessible and durable, creating a safer and more efficient environment for daily operations. We take pride in delivering high-quality solutions that blend functionality with long-term reliability.
