Cleveland State University: Stairwell Concrete Demo & Repour
Within a week, our team completed a stairwell renovation project at Cleveland State University (CSU) near the end of summer 2024. We mobilized the job site for safety before carefully removing the steps. We reset the existing railings within the new concrete, reinforcing it with wire mesh as needed for added stability. Using a durable 6.5 sac air-entrained concrete mix, we poured a solid 6-inch thick slab. To finish, we applied a broom texture to create a slip-resistant surface and added control joints to accommodate natural expansion and contraction. The renewed stairwell is now safe for CSU students and staff to use, and the steps are no longer an eyesore on school grounds.
